Notice of Event Cancelation

27 Oct

It is with regret that I must announce my appearance at tomorrow night’s Herman Cain rally in Huntsville, Alabama has been canceled due to apprehension on the part of the sponsoring organization regarding the title of my new song “Beat Obama with a Cain”.

While it would have been a great honor for me to perform at the rally and introduce “the Herminator” (as was planned), I understand that some my shy away from my straight forward approach to pulling America back from the abyss she is surely traveling toward and I respect that. However, because my song is not racially motivated in any way despite what those racially motivated members of the left are saying, I proudly stand behind every word.

Should you have any questions about tomorrow night’s cancelation I would direct you to:

Kathy Linden / lindenk@juno.com / 256-881-2818

or

Frances Taylor / franceseliz@netscape.net / 256-509-1667

On a brighter note I suspect you’ve noticed the recently produced recording of “Beat Obama with a Cain” playing in the background. I will be making an announcement soon to tell you about the upcoming video that I am co-producing with let’s just say… friends of “Friends of Herman Cain”.

Until Then,

Let’s beat… well, you know.

Phillip

Beat Obama With A Cain!

04 Oct

After thoughtful consideration, I am endorsing Herman Cain for the office of president of the United States. I believe Mr. Cain’s life experiences and familiarity with the common man on the street combined with his education and corporate experience makes him stand a little taller than the other fine candidates who are also seeking the office. But then you throw in the fact that he’s NEVER held public office and it’s pretty much a no brainer as far as I am concerned.

Due to the current economic situation that the present administration has left me to work with, I have no money to donate to Mr. Cain’s campaign. However I’m handing over the keys to a brand new campaign song.

Though some may consider me a racist homophobe tea bagger (sic), I believe the content of Mr.Cain’s character to be impeccable which is the main reason he was under my consideration in the first place . But for no other reason than to tweak those of all races who in 2008 cast their votes for Barrack Hussein Obama based solely on the color of his skin, let me close by saying this..I’m voting Cain…even if he is black…

New Duo Partner

02 Sep

myWPEdit ImageSeveral years ago I had the privilege of sharing an evening, a stage and one hell of a good time with the notorious Gary Talley, lead guitarist for the legendary “Boxtops”. It was especially a great honor for me since my earliest memories of discovering my love of music on the AM radio dial as a pre-schooler included those timeless hits like “Cry Like a Baby” and “The Letter”.

Recently after discussing the mutual interest we each have had in creating a powerful acoustic duo we decided to partner up and see where it takes us.

Over the years Gary has performed and recorded with greats such as Billy Preston, Willie & Waylon, Dr. John and Tim McGraw just to name a few. Knowing this it makes me very proud to know that he’s willing to slum it up with little ol’ me.

On September 12, 2009 had the privilege of marching down Pennsylvania Avenue with hundreds of thousands of some of the proudest people on the planet. The day had such a profound impact on my life that I spent a couple of days writing a song about it called "Can You Hear Us Now?
".

This year I've been invited to the stage to sing the story.

I've never been so honored.

Glenn Beck Steals My Thunder

05 Sep

by Phillip Rogers

I had the distinct honor of being one of the musical guest at the “Take Back America” convention which was hosted by the good folks at Freedomworks on the Friday evening before the 8/28 “Restoring Honor” rally.

Daughters of The American Revolution Constitution Hall

Daughters of The American Revolution Constitution Hall

The event was held at the Daughters of the American Revolution Constitution Hall which is located a block or so from The White House. .

In some miraculous way at some point during the past year, “Can You Hear Us Now?” was played within earshot of the President and CEO of Freedomworks,  Mr. Matt Kibbe and I was graciously invited to perform at this years convention as well as the 9/12 rally at the capital this year.

The people from Freedomworks were as nice as anyone could be but after arriving twenty minutes early for a 5:00 pm sound check (that never happened), I proceeded to stumble into the most inept sound crew on the planet. I ended up suffering through the entire performance without any monitor since the closest one was fifteen feet to my back and right and facing in the direction of my nine o’clock.

On top of that, what I was able to hear had a full second delay from the time I sang and played to the time it bounced of the wall on the other side of the hall and came back to me.

I hate to come across as a “Tin Hatter”  but the whole time I was thinking this production has been sabotaged by liberal political opponents.

Oh Yeah….as if that wasn’t enough….just when you think it couldn’t get anymore confusing.

Who shows up and horns in front of me?

Glenn Beck.
