The Acoustical Ideas and Interpretations of Phillip Rogers

Several years ago I had the privilege of sharing an evening, a stage and one hell of a good time with the notorious Gary Talley, lead guitarist for the legendary “Boxtops”. It was especially a great honor for me since my earliest memories of discovering my love of music on the AM radio dial as a pre-schooler included those timeless hits like “Cry Like a Baby” and “The Letter”.

Recently after discussing the mutual interest we each have had in creating a powerful acoustic duo we decided to partner up and see where it takes us.

Over the years Gary has performed and recorded with greats such as Billy Preston, Willie & Waylon, Dr. John and Tim McGraw just to name a few. Knowing this it makes me very proud to know that he’s willing to slum it up with little ol’ me.
